Anubias barteri var. nana 'Mini Coin'
Common Name: Mini Coin Anubias
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Mini Coin' is one of the tiniest known cultivars of Anubias, featuring perfect, coin-shaped leaves barely larger than 0.5 cm in diameter. This slow-growing rhizome plant forms dense, low clusters of rich green foliage and is ideal for nano aquascapes, micro terrariums, and intricate hardscape designs. Originally selected and propagated in specialised nurseries, ‘Mini Coin’ is prized for its miniature size, ornamental shape, and extreme durability.
Just like other Anubias types, it must be mounted on hardscape materials like driftwood, rocks, or cork bark. It thrives in humid, low-light environments and does not require nutrient-rich soil or CO₂ supplementation. In aquariums, it's frequently used for foreground layering and small-scale aquascaping. In terrariums or vivariums, its scale and structure make it ideal for tiny landscapes or bonsai-style hardscape accents.
