Description

TDS / EC / Temperature Meter for Aquascaping

Take the guesswork out of water preparation and keep your aquascape parameters consistent with this compact 3-in-1 TDS, EC and temperature meter.

Designed in a simple pen-style format, this meter helps you quickly check the values that matter most during aquarium maintenance, with TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) front and centre for aquascapers using RO water and remineralisers.

Whether you’re preparing water for a planted tank, species specific setup, softwater aquariums, or matching water changes to your existing tank, this meter gives you fast readings in seconds.

Why aquascapers use it

For many aquascaping setups, TDS is one of the easiest and most practical ways to monitor consistency when:

  • mixing RO/DI water with remineralising salts

  • preparing water for species specific tanks

  • matching water change water to tank conditions

  • tracking gradual shifts in dissolved minerals over time

  • checking source water before use

TDS won’t replace full water testing, but it is an excellent daily/weekly control tool for keeping your routine stable.

Key Features

  • 3-in-1 measurement modes

    • TDS (ppm)

    • EC (µS/cm)

    • Temperature (°C / °F)

  • Fast, easy readings

    • Pen-style design for quick dip-and-read use

  • TDS-first practical use for aquariums

    • Ideal for RO water preparation and remineralisation workflows

  • Switch between modes

    • Easily toggle between TDS, EC and temperature readings

  • Data hold function

    • Hold the reading on screen for easier recording

  • Backlit LCD display

    • Easy to read during maintenance and water prep

  • Compact and portable

    • Handy for fish room use, bucket mixing stations, or on-the-go testing

Common aquarium uses

Planted aquariums / aquascapes

Use TDS and EC to help maintain consistency in water changes, especially when using RO water and adding GH/KH remineralisers.

Species specific tanks

Helpful for keeping mineral levels stable when preparing new water (especially for more demanding fish species setups where consistency matters).

General fishkeeping

Quickly check dissolved solids and conductivity when troubleshooting changes in water source or routine.

Specifications (manufacturer stated)

  • TDS range: 0–9999 ppm

  • EC range: 0–9999 µS/cm

  • Temperature range: 0–60°C

  • Resolution: 1 ppm / 1 µS/cm / 0.1°C

  • Power: 2 × AAA batteries (Not Included)

  • Dimensions: approx. 150 × 29.5 × 16.5 mm

  • Weight: approx. 55 g (with batteries)

Important notes for aquarium use

  • Rinse the probe with clean water after use.

  • Do not immerse above the marked immersion line.

  • For best consistency, measure water at a similar temperature each time.

  • This meter is best used as a consistency tool alongside your regular aquarium test kits (pH, KH, GH, etc.).

A practical tool for more consistent aquascaping

If you prepare your own water, remineralise RO, or simply want a quick way to track dissolved solids in your aquarium routine, this meter is a simple and useful addition to your maintenance kit.

Quick note on EC vs TDS

EC vs TDS

They are related, but not exactly the same:

  • EC = direct Electrical Conductivity measurement (usually shown as µS/cm)

  • TDS = estimated Total Dissolved Solids (usually shown as ppm) calculated from conductivity using a conversion factor

So for aquascapers:

  • TDS is often the quick practical number people track

  • EC is the underlying conductivity measurement behind it
