Carbon is the basic building material of plant tissue; it constitutes over 40% of the dry matter content of plants, so it is the most crucial macro-element. The supplies of carbon in water are small. Part of carbon dioxide penetrates from the atmosphere, and the further part is produced by fauna in respiration.
Natural CO2 also arises due to the decomposition of organic substances dissolved in water. In well-lit aquaria with many plants, the natural level of carbon dioxide falls to the values around zero, so if we do not have a system of gas CO2, we need to apply carbon supplementation.
A deficiency of carbon dioxide causes retarded growth and, in extreme cases, its suppression. A shortage of CO2 in the tank may lead to the development of various algae.
Yokuchi Gen C is a preparation of organic carbon in the easiest absorbable form. The fertiliser may be used as the primary carbon source in the aquarium or as a supplement for dosing carbon dioxide. Regular application of the Yokuchi Gen C improves the condition of plants in the aquarium in a significant way, preventing algae growth.
400ml: 1 click / 100 litres of water per day.
30ml: 1 drop / 5 litres of water per day.
- It is best to dose it near the water outlet from the filter.
- In the case of a large number of plants, the dose of fertiliser should be increased accordingly.
